Microsoft Lumia 640 launched on Flipkart in India, priced at Rs 11,999

Microsoft launched the Lumia 640 at MWC last month. As expected, the Redmond-based company has launched the smartphone in India. The handset is priced at Rs 11,999, and will go on sale exclusively on Flipkart from today.
As far as specifications are concerned, the Lumia 640 flaunts a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) ClearBlack, IPS LCD display with a pixel density of 294ppi. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and paired with 1GB of RAM.
On the storage front, the handset offers 8GB internal memory, which can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. Microsoft is also giving away 30GB of OneDrive storage space to all Lumia 640 buyers.
In the photography department, the smartphone features an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, and LED flash. Up front, there is a 0.9-megapixel snapper with f/2.4 aperture, and 720p video recording capabilities.
The Lumia 640 also features a 2,500mAh battery, which the company claims is good enough for up to 20.3 hours of talk time, and up to 35 days on standby mode. Connectivity options include, dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC, and on the software front, the smartphone runs on Windows Phone 8.1. Microsoft has also promised that the handset will soon be updated to Windows 10.
