MWC 2014 Live: Huawei TalkBand B1 smartband with Bluetooth 4.1 earpiece for wireless calls announced

Huawei-TalkBand-B1Along with announcing the MediaPad tablets and the Ascend G6 smartphone, Huawei has also taken the wraps off the TalkBand B1 smartband. This is essentially a fitness tracker band like the Nike FuelBand and Fitbit One, but with the added benefit of a Bluetooth earpiece to take calls when on the move.
Talking of the specifications, the smartband is about 14.6mm thick, weighs in at 26g along with  bendable design and features a 1.4-inch flexible OLED display. It includes a 90mAh battery, which the company claims can last up to two weeks on normal usage or seven hours of talktime.  It is also IP57 certified, or in other words it is waterproof and dust-proof. It uses NFC and Bluetooth to connect to your phone and with the earpiece you can take calls without having to remove the phone from your pocket.
As mentioned above, it is also a fitness tracker and hence can track stuff like the number of steps taken, miles covered and calories burned. The smartband also records sleep duration and quality of sleep and comes with smart alarm and nap functions to help you rest better.
The device will retail at 99 Euros (Rs 8,450 approximately) and as far as the availability is concerned, it will hit select countries from next month onwards. There is no word on if Huawei will bring this device to India.
