HTC One M9+ with 2K display, octa-core SoC, fingerprint scanner announced: Features, specifications
HTC has pulled the wraps off the One M9+ at an event in China,
after having launched the One M9 at MWC last month. The smartphone
design is in line with the numerous leaks, and also boasts a fingerprint scanner-integrated into the physical home button.
The HTC One M9+ features a 5.2-inch QHD (2560×1440 pixels) display, and underneath is a 2.2GHz MediaTek MT6795T octa-core chipset paired with 3GB of RAM. On the storage front, the handset offers 32GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.
On the photography front, the smartphone features a Duo Camera setup at the back. The primary camera is a 20-megapixel snapper along with a depth-sensing sensor. Up front, there is an Ultrapixel selfie camera.
The smartphone also features BoomSound speakers with Dolby surround sound technology, a 2,840mAh battery, and connectivity options like LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and Infrared. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop wrapped under Sense 7.
One of the talking points on the smartphone is the fingerprint sensor in the home button. It supports biometric authentication for the AliPay payment system in China. HTC is offering the One M9+ in three color schemes, silver and gold, full gold and gunmetal grey model. As of now, the smartphone has only been announced for the Chinese market. There is no word on when the company plans on launching it at other markets including India.
