WhatsApp it seems is facing a downtime. The service went down at around 9:00-10:00PM IST, but the cause of the downtime is not known yet. We have reached out to WhatsApp and will update the post when he hear from them.
Since then however, the service seems to be back up for many users, including yours truly. There are however a lot of people who are still not able to send or receive messages via the app. Not surprisingly, these users took to the social networks to express their frustrations.
