HTC RE cylindrical 16-megapixel camera goes on sale exclusively on Snapdeal, priced at Rs 9,990

HTC launched its RE Camera in India back in October this year, and had announced that the camera would go on sale in November. While it has clearly missed the date, HTC’s first consumer camera has today gone on sale exclusively via Snapdeal, priced at Rs 9,990.
Snapdeal claims it will ship the device within one working day, and also has COD and EMI options on offer. As a promotional offer, Snapdeal is also bundling an 8GB microSD card with the RE Camera.
The RE Camera, at first glance, may look like an inhaler or a toy periscope, it is anything but that. The RE is a serious camera capable of surviving outdoors, and is touted as a GoPro rival. It is waterproof with IP57 rating, so it can survive the outdoors, and you won’t need any additional protective casing either.
As far as the specifications are concerned, the RE features a 16-megapixel, 1/2.3-inch with a 146 degree wide angle CMOS sensor. You can click a photo by pressing the trigger button once, while full HD videos can be shot by pressing the button for slightly longer. RE can shoot slow motion videos shot at 120 frames per second and time-lapse videos as well.
The camera also features 820mAh battery, which HTC claims is good enough for clicking 1,200 photos or one hour 40 minutes of continuous video recording in full HD resolution. HTC is also releasing a companion app that is compatible with Android and iOS devices that will allow users to share photos and videos directly from the RE to your device over Wi-Fi.
We spent some time with the RE at the event in New York, and here are our first impressions.
