US-based fashionable smartwatch maker Martian has partnered Flipkart to exclusively launch its smartwatch in India. The company has launched its first smartwatch called Martian Notifier, which is priced at Rs 9,999. The smartwatch is up for preorders on the e-commerce site, and shipping will start in early October.

Unlike the mainstream smartwatches from the likes of Samsung, LG, Sony, and more recently Motorola, the Notifier has limited functionality. It is an analog watch at heart, with only a small display at the bottom for notifications. The smartwatch will notify you of incoming calls, text messages, social media notifications, weather and emails.

As for compatibility, the Martian Notifier is compatible with iPhone 4S and above, fifth-generation iPod touch, iPad mini, iPad Air, and third-generation iPad, as well as Android smartphones and tablets running on 2.33 Gingerbread and above.

Speaking of smartwatches, Motorola’s highly-awaited Moto 360 will soon go on sale on Flipkart. The smartwatch was unveiled in India earlier this month, but pricing of the smartwatch is still a mystery. The wearable device features a 1.5-inch LCD (320×290 pixels) display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection, TI OMAP 3 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB internal storage and a 320mAh battery. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0 and it comes loaded with sensors like pedometer, and heart-rate monitor among others.
