SanDisk launches 200GB microSD card, USB Type-C flash drive, and iXpand Flash Drive for iPhone, iPads

SanDisk has launched a range of memory solutions for mobile users. These include a 200GB microSD card, Ultra Dual USB Drive 3.0, Dual Flash Drive with USB Type-C connector, and an iXpand Flash Drive for iOS devices.
The iXpand Flash Drive is meant to be an expandable storage solution for iOS devices. Using the flash drive, you can transfer content like photos, music and videos from your computer to the iOS device. It includes an iXpand Sync app, which is useful in managing the content being transferred between the computer and iPhones or iPads. The avoid draining of the device’s battery when transferring content, SanDisk has built-in a battery in to the flash drive. The iXpand Flash Drive is available in three variants differentiated by storage capacities. The 16GB variant costs Rs 4,490, 64GB variant costs Rs 5,990, and the 128GB variant costs Rs 11,490.
sandisk-ultra-dual-usbThe Ultra Dual USB 3.0 has an USB 3.0 connector on one side, and a micro-USB connector on the other side. In essence it is useful in easily transferring content between OTG-enabled Android smartphones and tablets and PC and Mac. SanDisk claims that the Ultra Dual USB 3.0 boasts theoretical speeds of 130MB/s. It will be available on Flipkart in three variants — Rs 1,099 for 16GB, Rs 1,749 for 32GB and Rs 3,049 for 64GB variants.

SanDisk also launched the 200GB microSD card, which was first unveiled at Mobile World Congress last month. This is the highest capacity microSD card, capable of bolding up to 20 hours of full HD videos, and hundreds of thousands of images. As for transfer speeds, the company claims it can give 90MB/s, which should be good enough to transfer around 1,200 images (3.5MB each) in a minute. This memory card is not for everyone, with a price tag of a whopping $399 or Rs 25,000 approximately.
sandisk-usb-type-c-flash-driveUSB Type-C connector is the next-generation USB standard, and SanDisk is getting ready for when the connector goes mainstream. SanDisk’s Dual Flash drive has a USB 3.0 on one side, and a USB Type-C connector on the other side. The company claims it will boast transfer speeds of 10Gbps, which is double of USB 3.0. The Dual Flash Drive will launch sometime in the second quarter, with no word on the pricing yet.
