Google Maps might have been one of the first Android apps to cross a billion downloads. While most people use it for navigation, Google thinks it can be used for some fun as well. Say hello to Smarty Pins, Google’s latest mapping game. 

Smarty Pins is a trivia-based game powered by Google Maps, where fun and knowledge go hand-in-hand. It can thus be called the perfect game for trivia lovers and geography addicts together. Players start with a bank of 1,000 miles which will either increase or decrease depending on the proximity of answers to the correct locations. Once you start a new game, the app will basically ask you a geography-related trivia question, you will also be given clues about a particular place or city and the map narrows down to the area around that location.

The objective of the game is to answer as many questions as you can before you run out of miles. The game is available in six different categories; featured topic, arts & culture, science & geography, sports & games, entertainment, and history & current events.
