Asus took wraps off the ZenFone Max
with massive 5,000mAh battery in August last year. While the company
did not reveal its price then, it has now launched the smartphone in
India today.
One of the talking points of the ZenFone Max is its massive 5,000mAh battery. When fully charged, the smartphone can offer up to 37.6 hours of talk time on 3G, up to 32.5 hours of web browsing on Wi-Fi, up to 72.9 hours of music playback or up to 22.6 hours of video playback, the company reveals. That’s not all; the ZenFone Max also supports reverse charging, allowing you to use it as a power bank to charge other devices.
Asus ZenFone Max price: The smartphone is priced at Rs 9,999, and is available exclusively via Amazon India. While the pre-bookings are now open, it will be available in second half of January. It will also be available at Asus exclusive stores. At this price point, the will compete with the likes of Gionee Marathon M4, Micromax Canvas Juice 3+ both of which feature a 4,000mAh battery, and Lenovo Vibe P1, which is equipped with 5,000mAh battery, but priced slightly higher.
Asus ZenFone Max specifications and features: It houses a 5.5-inch HD (720p) display covered with Gorilla Glass 4 protection. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core chipset paired with 2GB of RAM. Also on the offer is 16GB of onboard storage and microSD card slot that supports cards up to 64GB.
On the camera front, the ZenFone Max sports a 13-megapixel f/2.0 camera at the back and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Connectivity options such as dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE, USB-OTG, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth are also present. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with ZenUI 2.0.
