HTC Desire 816 now available online in India priced at Rs 24,999
HTC’s Desire 816 smartphone is finally available online for purchase In India. The Desire 816 is the company’s flagship in its Desire series of mid-range smartphones and was announced in April in India. Though the phone was announced for Rs 23,990, it is retailing on Flipkart at a higher price of Rs 24,999.
This is the company’s 5.5-inch mid-range offering, which was unveiled at MWC in February. Talking of specifications, it comes with a 720p display resolution, is powered by a 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 processor paired with 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, expandable using a microSD card. One the photography front, the phone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with flash light and f/2.2 and a 5-megapixel front facing camera for selfie enthusiasts.
Connectivity-wise, it supports dual SIMs with 3G network on one SIM, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth and GPS/AGPS, and on the software front, it runs on Android’s latest the 4.4.2 KitKat version out-of-the-box, wrapped under HTC Sense UI.

The phone competes against the likes of Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 which comes with a 5.25-inch 720p display, runs on a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 chipset with 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable storage space, has an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera, and runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The phone is available for Rs 20,790 approximately.
